Question: How long have you been in business?

Fitch painting has been in business since 2001 – Almost 25 years!

Founded by Scott Fitch, Fitch Painting was born from a passion for precision and a deep appreciation for the impact that a fresh coat of paint can have on a space.

Scott began painting alongside his father at the age of 10, taking on his first paid painting job at just 14 years old.

Over the years, he perfected his craft and built a reputation for delivering superior painting services with unmatched attention to detail.

Today, Fitch Painting is a thriving, customer-focused painting company that continues to set the standard for professional painting in Barrie and surrounding areas.

Question: How can you offer Free Colour Consultations?

One of the greatest barriers to getting a paint job done either by yourself or with the help of a professional is choosing colours and finishes. It can be overwhelming!

We want to help! Most people that reach out to us are looking for a proposal from us or a company of our caliber so we want to help each person find their style, vibe and unique colour palate so that when they make a decision they are ready…

We know that this service introduces us to people who are interested in having a great experience with their painting project and those are the kind of people we want to get to know!

Question: What’s your availability? How far out are you booking?

We have many painters to serve you, and most of our clients are flexible so we can often schedule projects in as early as 1-3 weeks or as far in advance as 3 months.

The key is to get your proposal as soon as possible so you can have enough time to book your complementary colour consultation before the painting begins!

Question: Why can’t you just give me a quote/ballpark over the phone?

We totally understand why you might call around to find “prices” for the painting work in your home! We might do the same thing, but it really isn’t a good use of your time.

Every project needs to be quoted custom, onsite with all interested parties present to let the consultant inspect the areas to be painted (even run their hands over them), make a plan for ladders, property protection and surface preparation.

We need to talk about the plan for colours, paints and finishes and make sure all the surfaces to be painted are included in the quote!

A real professional wouldn’t do it any other way, and if you do get a ballpark price on the phone, it won’t be in the real ballpark at all.

In the time it takes to call 3 different companies for a “ballpark quote”, we could provide you a an accurate, guaranteed, written proposal.

Question: How do you charge? By the hour, by sq ft?

We provide you with a detailed, custom, professional, guaranteed written proposal. This is provided on-site, during the consultation so you don’t have to wait and wonder when you are getting a quote.

Over the years we have learned that charging by the hour leads to unpredictable costs, perceived rushed or slow work, and doesn’t reflect the quality we deliver. Instead, we provide clear, upfront pricing so you know exactly what to expect.

We have also learned that charging by the square footage of the floor just isn’t accurate because it doesn’t account for wall height, prep work, surface types, number of coats, or intricate details like trim and doors.

A small home with high ceilings and lots of trim can take more time than a larger open-concept space.

Instead, we offer custom quotes based on the actual work needed, ensuring you get fair, transparent pricing without any surprises.
